Jeff’s Tweed Tone 25CB112, serial number 009, is first the to utilize transformers from my new source, and I have to say it's a complete success. The OT was beefed up to give more bottom and slightly later breakup than the last one used at this wattage. It was designed with the Weber 12F150 speaker characteristics in mind and works extremely well with it. I think it's the final phase of finding the sweet spot of perfect breakup and perfect headroom in a single tweed design. This is as much headroom as you can make on a cathode biased tweed amp below 30 watts in my opinion. He also has the low power preamp switch option in the ground switch position, which can lower the gain of V1 to that of a 12AY7. It's running all JJ's and a Ruby 5U4, through actual NOS 1959 16 ga cloth covered speaker wire to the Weber. It has dual 8 ohm output jacks for running an extension cab if he likes. Level 2 tint, clear lacquer, and chocolate brown knobs set it off nicely. Jeff will be making sound samples and a video demo of the amp for me which I'll upload as soon as I get.
