Every serious player has at one time or another searched for an affordable practice amp that is more than a one trick pony. Most that are small and portable lack efficiency and have horrible tone at any volume level other than fully cranked, which defeats the purpose. The Five Star amp design went through many circuit changes and modifications during the prototyping phase and the end result is nothing short of stunning. It produces very articulate string definition, sustain and tons of gain but the notes are still complex and very musical. This small package packs a huge punch and can drive any extension cab with volume you wouldn't expect from something this size. It's 100% point to point hand wired with no circuit board.

Capacitors: JJ Multisection can or Sprague atom electrolytics; Sprague 715 OD, Mallory 150 and CDE silver Mica coupling and tone caps.
Resistors: 1/2 to 5 watt metal film, metal oxide and carbon comp throughout
Sockets: Micalex chassis mount with tube retainers
Potentiometers: Alpha high friction chassis mount
Switches: Carling

Jewel: LED color of choice
