Allen had sent this amp to a few Techs in hopes of getting the sound he wanted out of it and by the time I got it it had more mods and bad solder joints than I could count. He wanted a low power amp that he could change from 6V6 to 6L6 power tubes for more or less headroom when he wanted it. I stripped it of it's board, pentode/triode switch, and output transformer and went to work. The end result was a single gain stage and phase inverter with a cathode biased power section that biased correctly for both 6V6 and 6L6 power tubes at the given plate voltage, running into a WeberVST multitap Output transformer. The amp sounds absolutely fantastic and last heard Allen was looking for an inefficient speaker to quiet it down!
